CNC celebrates its 80th anniversary
80 years supporting film, animation, and creativity!
As the CNC (Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée) celebrates its 80th anniversary, Xilam would like to recognize the essential role it has played since 1946 in supporting creativity, diversity, and the development of France’s film and animation industries.
For nearly 30 years, our characters and stories have traveled around the world and entertained generations of children. This journey has grown within a vibrant French creative ecosystem, in which the CNC plays a key role and which has helped establish French animation as a global reference. As part of the conference “Le CNC, des salles obscures aux mondes numériques : 80 ans de politiques du cinéma et de l’image animée,” Xilam President Marc du Pontavice is taking part today in the roundtable “Aux origines d’un leadership : histoire de l’animation française” at the Cinémathèque française.
Alongside Jacques Bled, Florence Miailhe, and Émilie Tronche, and moderated by Sébastien Denis, Marc will reflect on the history, development, and international reach of French animation.
Happy 80th anniversary to the CNC, and thank you to everyone who has helped French creativity thrive over the past eight decades!
